Wyatt Butcher was a warrior and fighting an internal battle that no one knew about when he died by suicide in July 2022. Wyatt was a junior at P-Tech (Dunkirk Campus) with his home district being Pine Valley Central School located in Western New York. Wyatt was studying to become a welder, with plans to join the national guard in the fall of 2022. Wyatt also had long term plans of joining the Airforce after completing his degree in welding. Wyatt was a member of his volunteer fire department with his mom and loved learning about being a firefighter. Wyatt was very involved with family and loved traveling. He was always talking about the various places he wanted to see. Wyatt loved baseball and wanted to someday see every stadium in the United States. Wyatt and his mother would make lists of places they should someday see, concerts to go to, and sporting events to attend.
Wyatt loved playing baseball in town and helping his younger siblings learn to play as well. He was so proud to be the oldest of four siblings. He would spend hours playing guitar hero with his Irish twin Warren, playing catch or rocket league with Will, and teaching Elwood everything he knows about fish. His youngest sibling Amelia was his first sister and was less than a year old when Wyatt passed away. After visits with his dad Wyatt would talk about the new things Amelia did on his visits and about how much she would smile when seeing him.
Wyatt was involved in a junior rifle club and loved being engaged in competition shooting. Wyatt enjoyed hunting with his dad, fishing with Josh and playing board games with our family, especially Risk. Wyatt had an exceptional knowledge of history and geography. He loved quizzing everyone at dinner and stumping everyone.

Wyatt was always smiling and was always there for his friends that needed him. Behind that smile though, Wyatt was hurting in a way that no one knew.
We have created this website to continue to honor what an amazing young man Wyatt was. As well as, to share information regarding the scholarship fund that has been created in Wyatt’s name. Wyatt may be physically gone from this earth but he remains everyday in all of our hearts and memories.
Travel Chips
We have created what we call travel chips with the hashtag #HelpWyattBTravel for people who find the chips to post pictures of their adventures and locations they travel to. Our goal is to still help Wyatt, through these chips, travel the world, just as he wanted to when he was here. If you find one, please post pictures, naming the location with the hashtag #HelpWyattBTravel and check out his Instagram site @wyatt_butcher_never_forgotten. After posting your pictures, please pass the chip on to someone else or leave it in a new location for the next person to do the same.
